hey hey hey. Long time no post- but what’s new? How’s everyones summer going? Mine has been SO busy between working and becoming an auntie (again!) but I have made sure I haven’t slacked on my skincare game. I don’t mean to toot my own horn but my skin is the best it can be so I’m super excited to show you what has totally changed my skin.

Are you ready?

It’s cheap.

It smells delish

It’s Tea tree oil

and it’s amazing.

and you need to try it.

If you don’t know the benefits of Tea Tree Oil then you should read about them here but some of the reasons I started using it was because it treats acne and helps cleanse the skin. The one I bought has a dropper so I just put a few drops on after cleansing and before I moisturize. The best.

Some people cannot stand the smell but I actually love it. I started using it in January of this year and it has totally changed my skin. I can now go out in public with no make up and my skin looks SO good. I love that it’s a holistic, natural solution to treating your skin and since it is so pure and 100% tea tree oil you only need a little bit of it. Some stores will sell tea tree oil products, like the body shop, but this is cheaper and 100% tea tree so you’re really getting more bang for your buck.

Give it a try and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you all!

hello hello hello! So my favorite question I always get is about face masks. If you follow me on snapchat (kerihillson) I am constantly in face masks. I love doing them while I study, clean or anything productive. I try to do them a few times a week and see myself picking from a select few that I stick to. Since so many people ask me about it I wanted to hook you all up with the best ones out there…

1  Glamglow Gravity Mud ($69.) This mask is easily my favorite. It looks so cool on [I’m sure you’ve seen it all over instagram, its bright silver and beautiful] and it makes your skin feel AMAZING. This mask clams to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, help uneven skintone and leaves my skin feeling ahmaaazzinng. Expensive but totally worth it!

2  Peter Thomas Roth ($47.) This one is SO good for whenever your skin is breaking out. I know some people can’t stand the smell but it doesn’t bother me. I love to slaver this stuff on and let it do it’s work. viola!

3 Boscia Sake Bright White Mask ($38.) This one gives you results right away. Anything that says brightening or whitening I’m a sucker for. This one is also a peel off which is my fave because honestly I am just too lazy to go wash off my mask…can anyone else relate?

4 Sheet mask feel so creepy but this one is SO good I just suffer through it. The Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin mask is seriously SO good. It claims to improve skin texture, trap your moisture into your skin while providing a smooth finish. I totally agree with all these claims and it’s the only sheet mask I’ll suffer through.

I’m always trying new skincare and these are just my go-to’s when I’m wanting to do masks. Let me know what other masks I should try down below….

Hello my little decor babes. I’ve been in such a home decor kick and am constantly on Pinterest, Joss and Main and other home decor sites to get inspiration and ideas for my apartment. Yes, I’ve lived here for 10 months but am still constantly trying to update it and make it as perfect as I can. I finally purchased bedside tables and had SO much fun make them really “Instagram worthy”.

I was so excited when I was able to find these amazing mirrored tables and was even more excited to buy little things for it. I know theres not a lot on them but I def wanted to share with you all.

So for the other side, or the “guys” side, I keep it simple because I can’t imagine a guy would want a lot of clutter on their table. This side houses my diffuser, read about it here, essential oils, pillow mist (i can’t believe I spent money on something like this) and a picture of luna.

Heeelllooo my little loves! How are you all doing? I am so excited to be sharing with you all how to curate the most perfect, and aesthetically pleasing, portfolio to take on job interviews. I was inspired to do this because I’m currently applying to jobs and interviewing [aahhh!] and really do think my portfolio helps me stand out from other candidates. Below, I’ll share what should be in your portfolio, how to set it up, and how to present it.

Okay okay I know this can be overwhelming and maybe something you all don’t think is necessary but in today’s world the job market is so competitive that you really need to do anything you can to stand out. Now you don’t have to have everything, or even in this order, but it’s just a jumping off point for you all so you can get started…

First things first, I put my portfolio in a really nice clean black display book. Do NOT use a folder. You’ll have to pull out all your loose leaf pages and you’ll look messy and unorganized. Having something you can flip though will look a lot better when you present it.

Now that you have your nice portfolio, let’s talk about what should be in it…

-About Me Page.

-Letter(s) of Recommendation.

-Examples of Work.

I always think your resume should be first. It’ll be the thing whoever is interviewing you will want to see. In all my interviews, whoever is conducting it always looks through and asks me about past experience so you’ll want it handy for them in case they didn’t print it out! Put it first so it’s easy. An ‘about me’ page isn’t for everyone but I include it just in case the person wants to read through for a few minutes. It should also answer the most basic interview question “tell me about yourself…” Next, and my favorite, your letter(s) of recommendation. I actually keep 2 copies of these slid into the plastic sleeve in case whoever is interviewing me wants to keep them to call for references. These are the best because they are people bragging about you! Include them and be proud! Lastly, examples of work. This can apply to almost everyone. Since I’m still in college and don’t have a lot of experience I include school projects that apply to the position I’m applying for. Though the project isn’t something I’ve done in the real world it still shows the company that I have the capability to do whatever it is.

Now, I don’t have a set time when presenting my portfolio. Some will ask for it in the beginning which is a good way to break the ice and sometimes I’ll wait until the end to show myself off a little bit more and get to talk about things I didn’t get a chance to during questioning. Just be confident and don’t be afraid to brag about yourself.

I LOVE my portfolio and really do think it helps me stand out. Since I’m a millennial, I think my generation doesn’t think this is something we need since everything is electronic so I really think this helps gives us a leg up on competition. It shows that we are prepared and care enough to put something together for the interview.

good luck to all my job seekers!

Hello my loves! So I’ve noticed there has been a trend in more wellness and non-traditional products recently. Crystals and essential oils have made their way into the mainstream media that I think wasn’t there even a few years ago.

I jumped on the bandwagon and found myself researching a lot about crystals and essential oil blends for different situations in your life [like sleeping, motivation, relaxation, etc.] Though I know about crystals and why people are obsessed with them I don’t know which one I would get or how to really take care of it. Since I didn’t know much about it I started by focusing on essential oils and my diffuser.

First of all, I’m OBSESSED with my diffuser. I think it’s so amazing and the one I have is super cute. I didn’t want to invest a lot in one or the oils since I was just trying it out so I picked mine up, along with a set of 3 oils, at Tj Maxx.

Secondly, I love it because it’s so relaxing to me. I love having a faint smell of my essentials oils through my apartment. Having my place smell nice is HUGE to me and I always feel better when I know my place does. Another really cool thing is that people put together different blends for different needs. I have seen some Etsy shops listing different ones. I’ll be sure to buy a few and report back to you all for links.

Since I’m new to aromatherapy, here’s an article that can better explain benefits of my diffuser. The biggest points that really pushed me to get mine was relaxation, adding water to the air and help pain relief.

anyyyywhoo, that’s my spcheel on diffusers and how obsessed I am. Is it a trend? probably. We’ll see If i’m still constantly using it here in a few months (we all know I don’t do things in moderation when I first get introduced to them.) But I do encourage you all to try it. It’s so fun to make different combinations and really helps the fung shui of your place.

talk soon.
